History – The Masseria which has belonged to the same noble family for many generations has been renovated; yet it’s original structure has been preserved throughout time. In the 17th century this farmhouse was used by farmers to harvest tobacco and olive crops. The properties latest owner was a passionate archaeologist who made many important cultural discoveries including the village well. The objects that he discovered and collected are displayed throughout the home with handwritten descriptions giving pertinent details.
Masseria – Off the small road leading into the village Depressa you will find a Great Expectations like entrance drive covered in leaves and trees that leads you onto this beautiful countryside farmhouse. The main home has authentic stone floors, wood beamed ceilings, and wonderfully painted furniture and comfortable décor. A large and open countryside style kitchen should make for some excellent meals. The living room has plenty of light accompanied by a fire place and a view out onto the front gardens. The dining area is adjacent to the kitchen and is well suited for large parties. There is a total of 3 fireplaces within this first floor of the house. If one prefers to dine outside there is a lovely terrace and pergola that suits any occasion no matter how formal or casual.
All 5 bedrooms have air-conditioning; each coming with a unique style and layout that includes vaulted or wood beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls and in some cases arched doorways. The ground floor has 3 double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The second floor also accompanied by balconies has two bedrooms with views onto the gardens and a rooftop terrace that overlooks the entire estate. 1 bedrooms is a master bedroom and the 2nd bedroom has two single beds.
