Masseria Le Lamie is a 16th century farmhouse near the Adriatic Seaside town of Fasano in Apulia. The “Knights of Malta” built the original nucleus of this unique historical residence. It would prove to be very challenging to find such a beautiful culturally rich home within such a sought after location anywhere in Apulia.
The Masseria has been owned by the same family throughout the generations and was originally part of a network of farmhouses which also included the well known Masseria San Domenico; which offers a fantastic oceanfront golf course. The San Domenico Hotel Group is the same group that also owns the famous Borgo Egnazia hotel.
Once you enter this magical place through its main driveway that is dotted with pine trees; you come upon a large center courtyard facing the property. Within this courtyard there is also a large cave that could be used for a number of purposes; as well as a citrus garden. Due to the historically defensive nature of the property a stairway was built that gives access to the two upper levels of the Masseria; as well as the mezzanine floor and the Knights Quarters (i.e. the first floor).
What are now masonry arches; originally were two drawbridges which connected the entry staircase to the different levels.
